Tasting notes: The Syrah displays a superb purple hue. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, violet, with spicy notes of white pepper, licorice and vanilla. The palate is harmonious and firm with aromas of cherry and blackcurrant complemented by a nice roasted touch with fine tannins. The finish on black fruits is long and pleasant.
Pairing: Grilled beef, lamb, pork, chicken, duck, stews, braised foods and fish dishes are all great pairings. The addition of bacon is perfect for Hermitage as it creates a natural aromatic, wine and food match.
Vineyards: This appellation covers eleven communes in a triangle formed by the hill of Tain l'Hermitage, the Rhone and Isère. It is a vineyard which has some granite parcels but especially clay soils with more or less gravels.
