The Chateau Beaulieu winery is located on land of exceptional terroir in the world renowned vineyards of Bordeaux. The winery can be found nestled in the valleys of the ‘Cotes de Bourg’ appellation. The history of the estate dates back to the 18th century. The magnificent castle on the estate should not be missed especially thanks to its breathtaking views over the 17 hectares of vines below that have been cultivated with passion and expertise.
The main grape varietals that are used in the extraordinary Chateau Beaulieu red wines are Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. In producing the Chateau Beaulieu white wines, the Semillon, Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc varietals are used. During the winter months the vines are left to rest and pruned for quality production. In the spring the vines show their first signs of growth at the base of the trunk and are trimmed to limit branch development. Finally in the summer, the soils are mechanically ploughed and the vines treated using only natural and animal materials without any synthetic chemicals. The result of these carefully monitored processes is a range of wines of the highest quality. The notable wines of the estate that should not be missed by all wines lovers are the Chateau Beaulieu Cuvee Arthus, the Chateau Beaulieu Red, the Chateau Fontvieilli Red and the Chateau Beaulieu Blanc. These wines have recieved international acclaim for their unique flavours and notes and for the tribute that they pay to the local French terroir.
Tasting notes: A fragrant and perfumed nose where notes of blackberries, black cherries, blueberries and crushed rose petals emerge. On the palate it’s fluid with fine tannins. A pure, harmonios, sensual red wine.
