Our work is carried out with a true knowledge and respect for our ancestral craft, both in the vines and at the winery. We seek to draw out the true character of our terroir, working the fruit with finesse and care. Oak is used subtly to accompany without overwhelming the fruit, allowing for the great terroir to express itself. Purity is our constant goal. Centuries of viticulture lie in our wake; a long history of passionate men and women and a unique product. Innovation still exists, as it must, but innovation never obstructs what is most essential: the earth, its fruit and the pleasure of taste.
Croix Mouton produces wines intended for pleasure, and excellent while still young. Entirely Merlot driven, they are full bodied and rich in flavour, easy to drink but with finesse and a stunning display of fresh red fruit on the palate. After the release of its first vintage, Château Croix Mouton was very quickly recognised by Bordeaux wine experts as being excellent value for money. The ‘M’ on Château Croix Mouton’s label is special. It changes shape and colour each year to reflect the personality of each vintage.
Tasting notes: It’s an enormously seductive and attractive effort filled up with perfectly ripe blackberries and sweet tannin, fine structure and subtle fruity, smooth and lingering finish.
Pairing: Best paired with sautéed mushrooms, beef hotpot and brined chicken.
