Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation of Chardonnay in new French oak barrels (50%) and White Tempranillo in American barrels (50%) with medium and light toasts of the wood. Followed by aging in the same barrels with fine lees for 10 months.
The author
Óscar Tobía, trained as an Agricultural Engineer and completed a Master in Viticulture and Oenology. In 1994 he embarked on his business adventure by founding his vital project: Bodegas Tobía. Betting from the first moment on innovation and creativity, he produced the first barrel-fermented rosé in Spain in 1996, Alma Tobía. He is a pioneer in Europe in using intelligent tanks that respect the environment and allow us to obtain wines of maximum expression and quality. His business vocation was awarded the Internationalization Award by the Chamber of Commerce of La Rioja in 2002.
Since 1994, he has based his work on the creation and development of three brands: Tobía, Óscar Tobía, Alma Tobía.
Its main capital has always been its creative, innovative and non-conformist spirit.
Tasting notes: Intense golden yellow with metallic shine and greenish reflections. High intensity. Symphony of notes such as ripe pineapple, pastry, honeycomb, citrus fruits, pear and peach assembled with aromas of vanilla and cinnamon under a floral background. With a very sweet entry it appears very voluminous and round, and at the same time very refreshing. It has a quince-scented retronasal. Very persistent and long finish.
Pairing: Simply prepared shellfish to grilled squid or fattier fish like salmon. It's also lovely with spicier dishes like Thai curry.
