Description : Xavier Vignon is an exceptional winemaker and has been considered for more than 20 years to be one of the greatest southern Rhône Valley wine specialists. Following his studies in œnology in Montpellier, Xavier Vignon worked at vineyards in France and in Australia. Enamoured of the Rhône Valley, he set up a œnology laboratory in 1996 in Vaucluse. Since 2016, Xavier Vignon has devoted himself to the creation of his own wines. Passionate about the great terroirs and grape varieties, Xavier Vignon makes and blends wines which set themselves apart by their unique style.
Winemaking : From 100 year old vines. At the heart of Xavier Vignon's expertise lies a well-oiled mechanism, tinged with experience, practice and intuition. Blending fascinated him very early on; over the years, he has made it an art in its own right, daring to create new associations, breaking free from codes, proposing innovative methods.
Tasting notes : Vignon's 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape looks to be the best example he's put together to date of this cuvée. Full-bodied and supple, it comes at you with layers of fruit, ranging from stone fruit and raspberries through to blueberries and cola
